Clinical Study of Neuralgia

Abstract

|
Sixtynine atypical neuralgia cases were studied. Age of onset was most commonly between 3rd to 5th decades and duration of neuralgia was mostly less than 1 year especially less than 1 month.
The commonest site of neuralgia was legs followed by arms, shoulders, chest, hypochondral area and generalized in this order of frequency.
Past history and associated symptoms had no relation to the neuralgia. Laboratory findings were not significant. Treatment with analgesics, sedatives, vitamins and steroids brought cure in 49 cases, improvement in 13 cases, and stationary course in 7 cases.
